Back to Work!
Actually, I did work almost everyday last week despite the fact that we had off-island visitors. Michael even helped a few times (during his 6-day week-end!
)! That’s one of the many things that are great about my work. I don’t punch a clock. I can get up, do some errands or some house or yard work, then get cleaned up and go to an appointment.
We unfortunately didn’t get to see Wreggie and Gigi and the gang on Saturday before they left, we had a morning appointment to do a couples massage on the beach at Tamarind Reef and wanted to have breakfast with them at the Deep End, but they had to eat the rest of the food they’d bought and had in the fridge.
We had another romantic couples massage on the beach scheduled for later in the day and went home after massaging a nice young couple at Tamarind. We were watering plants and vacuuming the pool when Michael spotted Yogi, one of our three remaining cats, on the fence separating the cat and dog yards. But he was unsteady and looked like he might fall into the dog yard where he would immediately be killed by the dog. Luckily, he was able to get Yogi on the correct side of the fence, but our poor kitty seemed to be paralyzed in his hind-quarters.
So we got him into a carrier, I called the vet’s office, and we prepared ourselves to go directly from cat parent duty to massage therapists by packing our bags with clean sheets and replacing yard-work clothes with beach work clothes.
Yogi’s back legs aren’t moving from the knee down for some reason. So he got a shot and was sent home with us with medication and instructions to keep him confined. So he’s living in one of the spare bathrooms. Poor kitty! But he’s got a good attitude, he’s eating and he’s using the litter box. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
We went from the vet to get some lunch and some nice kitty food for Yogi, then on to the beach for a surprise valentine’s gift from a nice, sneaky lady who contacted us a couple of weeks ago by e-mail. Her husband was thrilled to get a massage on the beach since they’d fallen off a hammock the day before. Ooops!
Sunday we planned to go out to Off the Wall to celebrate with Diana and Craig. It’s their second anniversary as owners of this fun beach bar and they had a fun week-end of celebration on tap. But the weather was gray and chilly, so we did the yard work we weren’t able to finish on Saturday, then it was too late to go out there.
Monday morning, we had another couples massage on the beach and then we snorkeled a bit at the Palms at Pelican Cove, and then we went to Off the Wall for lunch. It was the most spectacular day we’d seen in quite a while. The sea was the most beautiful deep shades of blue, the sky was clear and the breeze pleasantly cooling but nowhere near as strong as it had been in the previous days. That weird diving boat from Puerto Rico showed up, though to make our beautiful view into an odd caricature. (Pictures may follow).
Lunch was lovely and we headed home so I could go again to work before retiring in front of the TV to watch Madagascar 2, and eat popcorn and ice cream. More yummy fun!!
But now, I gotta get to work….Hiho, hiho…..

It was nice to see you both at the airport. That is always so special to be greeted by you and served chilled wine! Sorry we didn’t see more of you but gosh the week flew by.
