Black Wahtah

No, I’m not talking about our surrounding seas being totally polluted. I’m talking about what our “gray water” has become.

We try to conserve water by using what comes out of our washing machine to water plants. There’s a valve that we turn one way or another depending on whether we need the 30 gallon bucket filled up to use for plants, or if the used water can go out to various trees in the yard via another pipeline.

With all the rain we got last week and the week before, we really haven’t had to fill the bucket. None of the plants needed watering, and it already had some gray water in it from a load of laundry some weeks back. Well, today, I had to use the rest of it on a couple of plants, and it was disgusting! It was very black and very stinky. We had put some “mosquito breeding blocker” into it to make sure the little critters didn’t have a reproductive field day, so there wasn’t a huge swarm when I pulled water out, but it was gross. And, now, thank goodness, it’s gone.

Fortunately the plants don’t seem to mind…
