Is Uranus Retrograde?

We had been planning this day for quite a while.

Wreggie and Gigi are here and it’s my birthday (!) So Wreggie e-mailed us weeks ago saying that he was making reservations for 10 people at the Pickled Greek and we would be two of those 10 if we were interested. Well, we go to the Pickled Greek at least once a week, and for my birthday I wanted to do something a little different. So we opted out of that one, but we asked if they’d like to join us for parasailing, and then a sunset sail on the Roseway. They agreed to both and even though three of us admitted to the possibility of “crotch willies” (Michael would have none of that), we would brave the heights and slug the grog in celebration.

Well, it was too windy for parasailing, but we figured that since the Roseway is a fine seaworthy vessel, she’d brave the mighty Caribbean waters for a couple of hours.

But no. None of the plans we made panned out for my birthday. Abby called while we were out to tell us that the ship was not sailing. Aaargh! And poor Jenna took an extra Bonine in anticipation of the rolling ride.

We did, however spend a lovely few hours at Ha’penny beach. We met my daughter there and had a fun walk down to the end and a romp in the surf before heading to the Palms at Pelican Cove for lunch. Yum!

After excessive sun, sand and copious amounts of alcohol (I didn’t bring any of it! – but since I wasn’t in charge, there was also not enough agua!) we were too zonked to go on.

Despite the lack of results after all that planning, I had a fabulous birthday. I spent time with my wonderful husband(s), my amazing daughter, and our fabulous friends.

And when we got home, Lorine had called, Diane Marie called and my brother called. Wow! Overwhelming!

I often wonder why I have been so fortunate……

On a different note, this came in the e-mail box this morning:

Scotch with two drops of water.

A lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and orders a Scotch with two drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink she says,’I'm on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it’s today…’

The bartender says, ‘Well, since it’s your birthday, I’ll buy you a drink. In fact, this one is on me.’

As the woman finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, ‘I would like to buy you a drink, too.’

The old woman says, ‘Thank you. Bartender, I want a Scotch with two drops of water.’

‘Coming up,’ says the bartender

As she finishes that drink, the man to her left says, ‘I would like to buy you one, too.’

The old woman says, ‘Thank you. Bartender, I want another Scotch with two drops of water.’

‘Coming right up,’ the bartender says.

As he gives her the drink, he says, ‘Ma’am, I’m dying of curiosity. Why the Scotch with only two drops of water?’

The old woman replies, ‘Sonny, when you’re my age, you’ve learned how to hold your liquor. Holding your water, however, is a whole other issue.’”
