Hi... How's this for inconsiderate? I pay for parking in a downtown C'sted parking lot. One day, as I was pulling into the lot, I saw a woman parking in my designated space. I pulled up and very nicely told her that she was in my spot. She got very vex with me and said "I'm just going to be a few minutes! I'm in a hurry!", and started to walk away. I said - again, very nicely - that I too was in a rush, needed to be at work immediately, and would park her in. I told her that when she returned, "in a few minutes", she could come and find me at my place of work, and I would move my car - "in a few minutes. That made her move quickly enough, but she was really nasty about it, complete with chuups. That b**** acted as though I were the transgressor. I think she was acting ugly because she was caught and called out on bad behavior. People never cease to amuse!

Edward, Edie, Norma's Admirer, Cruzan 151, or whomever you feel like being today...

Obviously, I'm not perfect and have never once have said that I am. I do, however strive to be considerate of others in all that I do. I did not come down here trying to change anybody or anything. I just came to a different part of the US to enjoy the pleasant climate and wonderful people. Just like anyone can go to RI or any other state or territory and try to live in peace and harmony.

Unfortunately, just like anywhere, there are selfish creeps in "paradise". It's part of life and part of "Livin' on St. Croix".

Are you the person parked behind me that day? Otherwise, how would you "Know that if (I) spoke politely..." that this person would move?

I've never blocked anyone in like this...rushed or not.

And I'm a bit confused about who you think was in a hurry that day. It seems as if you're saying that in MY rush I was wrong (I was in no hurry to get anywhere, I just thought it was rude to park behind me when she had at least a dozen other spaces to park behind.) But in HER rush, her rudeness in parking behind me was justified.

Must be nice to be so righteous about everything. Typical of a Continental... to bad they can't be screen for attitude before moving here... 14 yrs, I would think you knew better... relax and enjoy life in the left lane... leave your rabid stateside hurry behind. I know that if you spoke politely to the individual, with the proper un-hurried courtesy, your wish to move would be quickly granted... when did you never block someone in when you were rushed? Are you always so perfect, Ms RI. Relax and enjoy the environment you so wish to preserve... as it is...

...and if you start your car and move a bit they honk at you as if you didn't know they were there, usually "chuppsing" or cussing at you

My very polite reply is "OH I'm sooo sorry, I didn't mean to interfere with YOUR parking lot" (or road or...)

but that is if there is a driver in the car.

ah, Paradise!!!

You mean the world DOESN'T revolve around you? I know it does and SHOULD!
Because you get it right!

I've seen bizarre selections like that even in NYC ( which is where I am now until July 8..) where the movie theatre or bus or train is near empty but someone has to sit right in front of, or next to YOU.

Humans are quirky everywhere and the motto is Live Alert. ( with nods to Lance Armstrong )
