Yeah, Trudi, Marilyn was a bitch. I have been so very lucky to have never lost property or animals. The dogs were all in, but two were in a room by themselves and wanted to be with us, so they whined a lot. We put the cats in carriers in the laundry room right next to the kitchen and they were fine except that one of them broke the latch on his carrier and got loose in the room. I just prefer them being in small places so they can’t jump on things and knock them down and get hurt. They’re all okay, though.

Hi Sonia! Slider made it! Phew! Peter spent the storm at the restaurant with a bunch of his staff. The generator has been working overtime. We’ll give him a hug for you. The hills are browner now since the winds took much of our nice green foliage. But it’ll come back before we know it. Hope your house did okay. Hope to see you soon!

Just talked to Michael this morning and all is well. They are cleaning up and waiting for the Internet to fire back to communicate once again.

Be safe down there, Terry and Michael, I remember how scary it can get with all those strange noises that go bump in the night. It was the winds of Marilyn that sent me up here to Montana, the roof went for the second time in 5 years and that was enough for me. This one sounds as if the center is pretty tight, so maybe you will miss the really rough stuff. I talked with a friend who lives on the South West shore and they are pretty close to the water, not a good thing. Like you, they have made sure all the pets are secure inside. Cats, they can run off in a second, and then you worry all night about them as I did in Marilyn after our roof went and Willie Nelson jumped over the bedroom wall and outside… Since you have done this before, I know you have all the supplies in place. I pray the island misses a direct hit. My heart is on St. Croix right now.

Good for you, Bonnie. Valium can be a godsend. The kids will just be happy to be inside. Last night, we watched a movie, and they were all great. But then again, Bubba was in the truck.

It’s raining harder now, and David has asked us to help him take his solar panels down. When Michael gets back from the office, we’ll be there, then we’ll finish up with our stuff.

I’m starting to wonder if I should take the empty wine bottles off the upper cabinets in case of major house rattling….there should be time for that after the outside stuff is done…….

Right there with you Terry- we thought we made it through another year. I hate the nighttime thing. I’d rather see it than not.

Good luck and hope you’ve got more than rum for the animals. I’ve got Valium from the vet for one dog who hyperventilates when it’s just plain windy.
Might be one in there for me too!
