Those Wacky Conservatives

Just a little sumpin’ sumpin’ to keep y’all entertained while you patiently await Terry’s forthcoming gastronomical reviews…

We’ve all heard the conservative rants about ‘liberal media bias’, but you really have to love the latest developments. Leonard Pitts, Jr. of the Miami Herald, brought this to our attention: Get ready for conservative Bible.

Conservapedia Logo - early version Apparently, the pernicious liberal bias extends deeply into Wikipedia and even, you guessed it… The Bible. Conservative Hero Andy Schlafly and a troop of home-schooled right-wing-nuts-in-training have been diligently countering the liberal onslaught in a wiki of their own, Conservapedia. Now they are taking on the penultimate purveyor of liberal hyperbole, The Christian Bible.

For the last few decades the far right has pretty much hijacked Christianity for their own twisted uses, but darn it all, many of their claims are refuted by the Good Book itself. Well not any more! Schlafly and crew have taken on the task of translating the King James Version from English to… ConservaSpeak?

    You’re speechless!

I know how you feel. Exposure to such an awesome display of Shtupidity can be mind-numbing.

  3. Wreggie Says:

No…reminds me of the “MMM MMM MMM Barack Hussein Obama” video. This is an awesome display of liberal Stupidity. It all balances out I suppose.

  4. Michael Says:

It is so over the top that many people have surmised Conservapedia is a hoax perpetrated by the left trying to make the right look stupid. That would be mildly funny. However, it has been demonstrated repeatedly that these guys are for real. They are actual conservatives thinking they are advancing the conservative agenda. Which is hilarious. Most Rebublicans and conservatives of note with any sense at all have tried to distance themselves from this idiocy, with the possible exception of Schlafly’s mom, Phyllis.

  5. Donald Diddams Says:

This would be funny if it weren’t so scary. Given the declining quality of education in this country, more and more people really believe this kind of stuff that can become the seeds of fascism.

The sad thing to me in my humble opinion is there is not a Statesman in Washington period. Ted Kennedy was the closest thing we had. I never agreed with most of the things he stood for but he was a statesman in the finest sense of the term.

To quote Howard Beal from the movie Network,” I’m mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore!” If its got a label whether it be conservatism, or left-wing liberal or, on and on and on and on, I disregard it. The search for the truth is not easy, never has been, never will be…

    Amen Trudi.

Hi there – thanks for the h/t! I must admit, this little adventure has been the most fun since the Lenski affair last year, especially now that fellow wing-nuts World Net Daily have found out about and are attacking Schlafly in horror.
