We’re trying a new look!

In keeping with the recent shark attack at Buck Island (or maybe it was a barracuda), we’re testing a new theme for the blog.

Actually, we discovered this theme back in December or January, when we changed servers. We were going to put it up then, but had some technical difficulties with it. It’s mostly working now (some of our older posts have some minor formatting issues, but that’s history) so we’re giving it a shot. Its more recent, so more compatible with the latest Wordpress has to offer.

Tell us what you think of the new decor.

What do you think of the new Theme?

Its nice, but it doesn’t seem to fit. It’s not islandy enough. It looks like a website for a Scuba company. Plus, the white on blue is a little harsh and the light blue on royal blue on dark blue is plain annoying (and difficult to read). A new look might be nice, but I’d think this is the right look.

make that “I DON’T think this is the right look.”

My opinion is that black type on a white background makes for the easiest reading.

Where’s the Palm tree? that has always been a theme of Ambrosia - there could be an over/under shot
(Smuggler’s Cove has pretty nice palms and clear water, but watch out for the robbers)

I do like the bottom being the bottom a lot.

    Any photos are a plus

The BOSS says get to work!!!

Well, it’s odd, after I’d already put this up, I saw a statistic on Wordpress that on their hosted blog site, Wordpress.com, dark background themes with light lettering were favored two to one over light backgrounds with dark lettering. Maybe the problem is the blue background for the main content is not dark enough. The white on darker blue of the sidebar doesn’t look too bad. I’ll play around with it some.

I’m liking the revisions on the new look. It’s easier to read and the header looks MUCH better with the halo effect on the black font.
